Information services
Industrial Property Office (hereinafter "Office") builds up and makes accessible collection of both world and national patent literature. At present time there are available about 30 million of documents from more than 20 countries including documents for which patents were granted on the basis of the European Patent Convention and the Patent Cooperation Treaty. The Office wants to inform the public about the services provided through the making patent literature accessible directly in the reading room or according to the order. In addition to the services provided through the making patent literature accessible on classic forms of documents (paper, microfiche, microfilm), the Office provides a number of services based on the use of computer technology. The importance of these services grows mainly because of the fact that the Office pays high attention to the use of electronically processed data. At present time there is a possibility of on-line access to a series foreign database centres and the Office owns large collection of patent documents stored on CD-ROMs, both fulltext and search. A number of services provided by the Office are free of charge. The services connected with special costs that must be borne by the Office, e. g. access to foreign database centres or searches in search files stored on CD-ROMs, are subjects of fees.
